Flights
Gran Canaria is served by Gando Airport more commonly known as Las Palmas airport (LPA). Flights are available from main UK and European airports as well as many regional airports.
The majority of flights from the UK direct to Las Palmas are charter flights with the main holiday companies or other charter airlines, though GB Airways (a British Airways Franchise) operate scheduled flights 3 times a week from London Gatwick. This route is due to be operated by easyJet from the end of March 2008.
It is also possible to fly other scheduled routes on a
more regular basis such as using Iberia via Madrid.
Transfers
There are a number of means of getting from the airport to resorts in the
island. Taxis are plentiful outside the airport and there is a direct bus
route to Playa del Ingles and the South. Alternatively, it is possible to
book transfers in advance. These can either be in the form of a shared
minibus service or a private car. Transfers are available for groups of
any size.
